Quill Gordon

One of the first American designed dry flies. Named after Theodore Gordon, this pattern imitates one of the first hatches in eastern US, occurring in early spring. (Epeorus pleuralis). Popular all over as a prime example of the 'Catskill Style' Dry Fly, spartan and elegant in your fly box, a real delight to watch dance on the surface. Particularly effective on cool days, when the flies hesitate on water surface before taking to flight. Quill Gordons often rise on the downstream side of obstructions.
