Thorax style flies feature a single wing, and more hackling. Often fished with a 'V' cut in the bottom hackle to allow it ride lower. Proponents of thorax style flies say they are more realistic and fish sip them. This allows for lighter tippets to be used for more realistic presentation. Cut all the bottom hackle off and fish like a spinner or emerger.
