Mosquito Red-Tail

Mosquito red tail has been legendary in the High Sierras and other alpine regions for decades. The red tail is a major attraction for trout and this pattern at times can flat out fish other offerings to alpine trout. Mosquitoes aren't always first on an alpine trout's food list, but they do work, especially in between hatches. Also effective anywhere trout slurp mosquito or similarly sized insects.
